Washing microfiber incorrectly can clog its fine fibers, melt its synthetic materials, or strip away its static attraction. Here is your essential care guide to washing and maintaining your mitts so they stay soft, highly absorbent, and effective for years.
1. Separate Microfiber from Other Fabrics Never wash your microfiber mitts with cotton towels, clothes, or lint-producing items. Cotton sheds lint easily, and microfiber’s static charge will attract every tiny fiber during the wash cycle. Clogged microfiber loses its ability to trap dust and leaves behind lint streaks when you clean. Wash your mitts in a dedicated load or with other synthetic microfiber cloths.
2. Skip the Liquid Fabric Softener and Bleach Fabric softeners and bleach are the ultimate enemies of microfiber.
